11th Generation Intel Processor Laptops.
To truly appreciate the new intel’s 11th generation processor & 11th generation processor laptops, we must first know what a processor and the role it plays in computers and laptops for those advanced techs skip right on to the next paragraph and for those looking for a little introduction, read on.
The processor also sometimes called the CPU (central processing system) is the beating heart and brain of any system and has the largest impact on productivity. A good processor means quick loading time for software, able to run multiple programs in one sitting, and the computer won't lag or slow down on running processor-intensive tasks. The processor determines the speed at which your computer can input and output info.
Today's generation is always on the move, relying mostly on portable devices for browsing, staying productive, playing games, and creating content, in which case the battery life becomes the real game changer with relation to power and processing which we will get into later on. When you're looking to buy a good processor you will see a lot of numbers related to CPUs, for example, 16,32, 64, 128 bits associated with the chip. The greater the numerical, the more computing it can handle. For general use 32 or 64-bit chips are sufficient, those looking for more power and speed check out our 128-bit laptops. There are number of brands that provide Intel 11th generation laptops such as Apple laptops, Dell laptops, Samsung laptops, Microsoft laptops, HP laptops, MSI laptops, Lenovo laptops, Acer laptops, Asus laptops.
The CPU clock speed refers to the number of pulses per second the processor runs. megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz) is usually what it's measured by. The clock speed is raised each year mostly in twofold of the previous year. Again the greater the number, the more power a CPU holds, although It does not always lead to faster performance. The CPU originally had only one core, a single processing unit, today dual, and quad, and even octa-core processors are more common. Again the more cores a processor has, the more programs your system can run simultaneously, speeding up the computing.
Understanding Core Differences - Intel’s core designations are - core i3, core i5, core i7, core i9. Even though core i9 is generally more powerful with better speed and higher frequencies it's not always the best choice, again here the number conveys the power of the processor and helps to pinpoint the differences
Intel 11th gen processor
Getting back to our star of the year intel 11th gen brags of mainly two types of processors. The tiger lake- codenamed for the 11th generation intel core mobile processor which is based on the new willow cove core micro-architecture constructed from intel’s third-generation 10nm Superfin. Laptops using tiger lake processors have started to be in the market from October 2020.
The second much awaited processor is the rocket lake codenamed for intel’s desktop x86 chip family, this is to be released on the 30th of March 2021. This processor is based on the new cypress cove micro-architecture, which is a variant of the sunny cove used in intel’s ice lake mobile processors and these are backported to the older 14nm process.
Rocket lake processor for desktops
If you haven't noticed the difference yet let us see, the released tiger lake processor is used for mobile devices I.e. laptops and the coming rocket lake processor will be used for your desktop. Even though the release date for the rocket lake is yet to come a German retailer claims to have been allowed for sale a month early thus resulting in the availability of the user benchmark tests. This new processor marks a change in DNA from the past five generations of the core CPUs, till recently we have used the sky lake in the 10-core /20-thread processor, but the new intel core i9 10900k, 11th gen will house the architecture- cypress cove. Cypress Cove is a little mix of almost all previous architecture it contains a little of ice lake, a small bit of intel Xe and it uses 14nm process node, it also uses CPU architecture from the mobile chips of 10th gen, which is also called the sunny cove. Last but definitely not least the 11th gen tiger lake Xe iGpu is also used. Although these two processors were made using the 10nm process node, this node is still not ready for desktop use yet, in its stead intel is staying with the 14nm node used in PC gaming.

Tiger lake processor - for mobile devices
The success of tiger lake, intel’s 11th gen set of mobile processors is critical to the company as it now has tough competition with and for owning the market in processors. The 11th gen intel core i7-1185G7 processor with iris Xe graphics can be said as one of the best processors for thin lightweight laptops. This processor combines to give industry-leading CPU performance, amazing AI acceleration immersive graphics, and best In class wired and wireless connectivity.
Intel having made numerous new updates on the existing 10nm node resulting in a revamped model of the 10nm Superfin and it has paid off with twenty percent higher clock speeds and the sweet spot of better power efficiency.
Having been paired with willow cove, it is said to bring numerous improvements over the previous ice lake gen with double the graphics performance, support for LPDDR4-4266 memory, and the first PCIe 4.0 support for laptops, integrated with thunderbolt 4 and wi-fi 6, vastly improves it service.
The 11th gen mobile chips are imbued with intel Xe graphics architecture. The preliminary benchmarking data shows a significant change in speed compared to ice lake. Results from Geekbench 5 shows supposedly tiger lake’s top chip, core i7 1185G7 operating at a speed of 3GHz base clock and 4.8Ghz, at a stunning increase over its ice lake equivalent. It's not just the CPU that's faster in the tiger lake mobile chip but also the integrated GPU. The Xe graphics allows gamers to play great playable frame rates in full-HD. Iris Xe graphics offers brilliant visuals which support billions of colors and HDR1. Also Dolby Atmos sound and long playback of Dolby Atmos Vision enabled content with hardware acceleration, the first in the industry. You can play games up to 1080p at 30fps or more. The significance of change can be seen from the following results, it's thirty two percent faster in word processing than ice lake, forty nine percent faster in video editing than ice lake, seventy seven percent faster for in streaming online games than ice lake. The higher end tiger lake chips get a sixty eight percent graphics to boost over ice lake through intel’s Xe technology used for light weight laptops to supercomputers. Games such as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds or Battlefield 5 are supported easily. Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 are built in for peripherals like high-speed storage devices and high-resolution monitors in tiger lake. Intel plans to market nine initial varieties of Tiger Lake chips ranging from low-end dual-core i3 models and higher-end quad-core i5 and i7 models.
